What You’ll Be Doing:

The employee will ensure operational excellence and profitability, by supporting both the Account Representative and Carrier Customers. The focus of this position is to assist the Account Representatives with managing carrier information and ensuring that we are achieving a high level of load matches with current carrier customers and prospective carrier customers. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Offering loads and booking dedicated shipments to assigned carriers.
  • Entering available carrier equipment and matching freight accordingly.
  • Communicating daily with carriers and other sales representatives to ensure the carriers are meeting the requirements of the loads.
  • Identify additional freight opportunities for assigned carriers.
  • Leverage relationship-building skills to grow existing carrier accounts.
  • Managing carrier accounts, including maintaining account activity, and meeting individual and pod goals.
  • Assisting Account Representatives in carrier rate negotiations.
  • Tracking and tracing booked shipments, as needed.
  • Providing customer service to STL’s carriers and customers.
  • Answering incoming calls; auditing load information; data entry and booking loads.
  • Hours: 08:00-17:00 M-F (Hours may vary slightly according to customer service demands).
  • Supervision: Reports to Operations Manager

Our Ideal Candidate Is/Has:

  • 1-3 years of work experience in customer service, operations, data entry, call center, dispatch or logistics.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, balance, and organize information while completing multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, problem solver who takes initiative.
  • Ability to succeed with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative under ambiguous circumstances.
  • Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment.
  • Proficient computer skills with PC-based desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel), email, and web-based meeting and presentation applications, as well as TMS.

What does an Insides Sales Representative (aka Freight Broker) at SunTerra Logistics do?

  • Makes prospecting calls to provide logistics solutions for your future clients
  • Develops relationships with your own customers resulting in residual business
  • Nurtures these relationships through consistently positive interactions and award-winning customer service
  • Negotiates and builds relationships with shippers and carriers
  • Facilitates successful pick-up, delivery and over the road assistance while their customer’s freight moves across America’s motorways

What You Offer Us:

  • Must have at least 1 year of Inside Sales experience within the 3PL industry
  • Proven track record of building your own book of business
  • Self-motivation, a concentrated work ethic, problem solving skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Top notch phone skills, persuasiveness, and passion for providing quality service to your customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing setting with resilience and an easy sense of humor
  • Keen negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must be proficient in keyboarding and able to maintain the technical and product knowledge necessary to perform the job effectively
